Private Lessons
The Viking Skating Club
is a non-profit organization, supporting the North Shore of Boston (Lynn,
Swampscott, Marblehead, Salem, Beverly, Peabody, etc.) for people of all ages
and levels who enjoy the recreation, fun, and achievement of figure skating. The
team follows the guide lines of the
Ice
Skating Institute (ISI), which is dedicated to providing quality ice skating
programs for recreational skaters.
Our home rink is at the
O'Keete
Center at Salem State
State College (easy access for the North Shore).
The Viking program is approved by ISI; its skating levels and certifications are
recognized by the ISI. Any skater at any level in the Learn-to-Skate program is
eligible and welcome to join the Viking ISI Team.
Viking is run by an elected set of officers (it's a requirement of a non-profit organization), board members and general volunteers. Viking only continues through your involvement.
Your first question may be "what does the ISI Team do?" The Viking Skating Club
provides for its members:
An organization by which skaters can complete in ISI-sanctioned skating competitions throughout the area. Most competitions include events from the Tot level through Freestyle, so skaters at any level can compete.
Ice time reserved just for Viking members, resulting in less crowed opportunities to skate and practice.
Your obligations are few - any member only competes in those events he or she wants to, or none at all. Joining Viking is easy - a skater must join ISI and join Viking (click here for Viking form).
